Math 4030 Observation

This section is what I observed during my internship at Davenport Elementary
Context:  This unit was created for CI 4030, Teaching Mathematics in Elementary School, Fall 2008.  It was created under the instruction of Dr. Kathleen Lynch-Davis.

This document includes observations made of a student in Mrs. Harrelson's third grade class at Davenport Elementary School.

Impact:  This artifact was created to show how a student was able to comprehend was being taught in the third grade  curriculum.  Also revealing what some of the obstacles negatively effect a student's performance.

Alignment:  This unit met the following North Carolina Standards for Elementary School Teachers:

Standard 2:  Elementary teachers have a broad knowledge and understanding of the major concepts in mathematics.

   *  Indicator 1:  Teachers have a knowledge of number sense, numeration, and numerical operation.

-This standard was met by analyzing the performance of a particular student's understanding of some of the basic number operations.
