Context:
I completed this science demonstration for CI-3543 in Block II during Spring semester. I performed this demonstration during my internship in front of my third graders at Mountain View Elementary.
Impact:
This demonstration benefited me because I see the importance of them in science because it is a lot easier to explain something when they see it happening. I feel better about presenting a demonstration now that I have done one. Students are required to use critical thinking skills during the demonstration and they see how science applies to the real world. As a future teacher, I know more about floating versus sinking taking that knowledge with me in the classroom.
Alignment:
I met Standard 3, Indicator 2, by researching and learning about floating versus sinking using an egg to demonstrate why some things float and some sink based on what they are in.
I met Standard 15, Indicator 1, by applying the concept of floating versus sinking to the real world.
