In the future, I plan to finish a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish, with a focus on pre medicine. After that I would like to continue on to medical school and become a doctor. Though I plan to keep an open mind going in to medical school to allow myself to really find my niche, my year researching in adolescent medicine has opened up a new plethora of possiblities for the future. My interest in women's health has grown and that may be a path that I would choose to pursue in the future. I think that my career goals will allow me to play to my strengths and skills. Being a physician requires care, compassion, and good patient interaction skills, which are the skills I have cultivated throughout the past couple of years.
This internship will certainly help me futher my career goals, because I am going to be working in a clinical setting and with a couple of physicians. This will help my professional skills grow and I will become better at working with other medical professionals.
I am very certain of this career decision. This is a field that I am incredibly passionate for and I think that this internship will help me get a new perspective on some of the aspects of the medical field including research.
For the school year 2016-2017, I plan to continue working with LHSI as an ambassador. For Summer 2016 I will be spending a month in Spain and working on studying for the MCAT, which I plan to take in the next year.
