TEC 565 required study and reflection on how to create, implement, and maintain a distance learning classroom. The theories and history build a solid foundation on which I can now stand when designing lessons and experiences for not only the students I currently teach, but the faculty I instruct for professional development opportunities in the future. The technology I was always able to utilize and now my confidence is higher in how to embrace it in the distance learning environment.
AZ- Arizona's Professional Teacher Standards
Standard 5: The teacher collaborates with colleagues, parents, the community and other agencies to design, implement, and support learning programs that develop students' abilities to meet Arizona's academic standards and transition from school to work or post-secondary educationThe performance assessment shall measure the extent to which the teacher:

Standard: V. Engage in Professional Growth and LeadershipTeachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources.
Performance Indicator: a. participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning.
Performance Indicator: b. exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others.
Performance Indicator: c. evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student learning.
