Teaching Philosophy

The purpose of teaching is to assist students and to help each one of them find and fulfill his or her own unique potential.  Teaching requires an appreciation of individual differences and the adaptation of instruction to meet each student’s unique needs.  Teachers should attempt to facilitate learning as a life-long process for students while pursuing evidence-based teaching methods and monitoring their own experiences in the classroom.  Frequent and ongoing feedback and assessment of their own teaching and the students’ outcomes should always be conducted.  Students with challenges in the classroom should be appreciated since they often motivate teachers to put even more effort into their teaching.  Good teaching can make a big difference in students’ lives, particularly for those who are facing challenges in many ways.
