Since 2008, I have been an active member of the international CouchSurfing community - "A global network of travelers, adventure seekers and lifelong learners." I have both hosted and traveled as a couch-surfer, and as a result, I have had the opportunity to connect with travelers from all over the world and made some lifelong friends in the process. The experience of couch-surfing has reminded me that the world is smaller than we sometimes stop to realize, and that if you open your heart and mind, people can be overwhelmingly generous, kind, insightful, and inspiring. The following are references that fellow members of the international CouchSurfing community have shared about me:
Ashley was the first person to welcome me to Chicago CS Community. She is a true CSer - great listener, interesting speaker, a person that really knows how to keep community together. She has a warm, welcoming and yet very energetic personality. In addition to that, it is always a pleasure to meet a fellow competitive athlete, who is open to new challenges. I look forward to participating with her in Illinois marathon and many laughs and stories at upcoming Chicago CS events.
Ashley is an incredible person who is friendly and outgoing. She is a very accommodating and welcoming host. I am very very glad to have met her, I consider her a good friend and kindred spirit.
Ashley is sweet, open and friendly-- and she's an enthusiastic booster of the Windy City! She went out of her way to get together, show me around for several hours and give me useful tips on what to see and do. She clearly enjoys getting to know people. We had fun hanging out, talking and eating lunch in the brief time we had together. If you get a chance to host her or meet her, go for it!
Ashley is an incredible person and has an amazing spirit. She makes it very easy to get to know her and before you know it you'll feel like you've known her your entire life. She has an amazing personality that draws you in and soon you'll have been chatting for hours without realizing it. She is definitely one of the major reasons I decided to join CS, and I can't wait to get out to Chicago and visit her.
