Greetings! My name is Elly Linares and I am a senior Outdoor Adventure Leadership Major at Ithaca College. What brought me to Ithaca? I like to think it all began in kindergarten at a small Waldorf School in the Sierra Nevada’s where curiosity, wonder and adventure were a part of my everyday. Twelve years later I graduated from Sacramento Waldorf High School in Fair Oaks, CA and moved myself to Ithaca, New York to attend IC.

When I am not studying I am most likely working! I direct a Conservation Corps in Ithaca for developing high school students. We explore the beauty of Ithaca (lots of waterfalls and gorges all around) and work on farms learning about sustainable lifestyles. And when I am not studying or working I am TRAVELLING.  I am grateful to have called many places home and I am learning that for me, home is where I hang my food bag. I have worked on an Ecofarm in Costa Rica, taught English in Spain and most recently experienced 90-day Outdoor Education training course with Outward Bound in CO, CA and UT!

-I LOVE WATER. Drinking it, swimming in it, listening to it.
-I was born and raised in environmentally sustainable family!
-I am firm believer that any problem can be solved with a dance break.
-I laugh to survive!
-Creative cooking in the backcountry is a passion of mine.
-I am currently in my 12 month application process with Peace Corps!
