Partnership North Brunswick Science teacher:
Letisha Kirby

My Introduction Letter sent out attached to first two week progress report:

Dear
Parent(s) or Guardian(s):

I
hope you and your child had a wonderful first two weeks of school. I have
enjoyed watching Mrs. Kirby teach them about astronomy, SI units and introduce
the various branches of Earth Science. Hopefully they will be able to tell you
what the acronyms GAMO and BLAH mean.

I
look forward to teaching your student about meteorology, climate and the
hydrosphere under the supervision of Mrs. Kirby for the next five weeks. I am
currently completing my teaching internship through UNCW to become certified as
a secondary science teacher. I am writing to reassure you that the expectations
of the class, grading policy and tutoring times will remain the same. Mrs.
Kirby will still be available for any concerns. Her email is
lcobb@bcswan.net
. If you wish to contact me personally my email is
clupton@bcswan.net
.

In addition to teaching for five
weeks at NBHS, I will be flying to South Africa and teaching at a township
school in Port Elizabeth for the month of November. I hope to bring this
international experience to the classroom and maintain contact with the
students from NBHS while overseas via skype and email. Mrs. Kirby has invited
me back in January to speak with the class before the semester ends. I invite
anyone who is interested in following my international adventure to read my
blog which I will be updating twice a week while overseas:

Have
a wonderful evening!

Sincerely,

Chanthou
