Classroom Web Page

Class WebPage Rationale

Context:  For this assignment I created several web pages that dealt with my student-teaching at Mountain View Elementary.  I used a digital camera to capture my pictures. I used Adobe Photoshop to customize my photos and I used Taskstream to download my photos.  My practicum partner was Rebecca Hedgepeth and with her help I completed this assignment.  Located within my web page are detailed information of what I did, how I did it, and why.  There are helpful links for both parents and students to observe as well as fun activities to complete.

Impact:  This assignment was an excellent way to gather my resources into one combined effort that reflects what took place during my student teaching.  It allows for the students and their parents to take a closer look into what my partner and I accomplished while we observed their classroom.  There are educational web links for the students and parents to experience as well as games and fun activities that instill both fun and learning.

Alignment:

NETS-T II-E:  On the Homework Page I included several web sites that will aid the students in their current curriculum.  I briefly described their daily activities that reflect the type of work they should be stressing upon outside of the classroom.

NETS-T II-C:  Inside the Student's Web Page I included several web sites that are based on educational activities that relate to their curriculum.  My purpose was to find material on the internet that was both safe for students as well as educational and fun.  There are several activities found on this web page that are intended to create a good atmosphere for the students to want to return again.

NETS-T V -A:  On the Parent Web Page I emphasized what I thought was important information for the parents of the students I observed.  Included were links to several Mountain View Elementary informational pages that included such things as weather, calendar, and deeper information into the background of the school's issues and plans.

NETS-T VI-A:  The Photo Gallery Web Page was created legally and ethically as all who show up in any of my given photos have a Student Media Release Form signed by a legal guardian.  I have provided as an a attachment the copy of the release form given.

NETS-T VI-C:  By providing the above stated release form in both Spanish as well as English, I was able to provide a more diverse source to insure that everything I produced on my web page was legal and ethical.

NETS-T IV-B:  On the Media Literacy Web Page I gave a summary of the media survey my partner and I created.  I expressed the thought process of our intentions and recorded our findings that proved our hypothesis to be true.

NETS-T II-B:  Provided on the Media Literacy Resource Page were numerous links to informational web sites that related to our research and findings.  There are numerous web sites on the internet that met our needs, yet we made sure that all our sources were safe for students and their parents and provided detail information that was relevant to our work.
