Internship
During my internship I gained a lot of knowledge about a school background and the setting needed for student growth. I observed a second grade class at Mountain View Elementary. All eighteen students were a pleasure to meet and teach.
I, through, a series of lesson plans taught the students in the subjects of mathematics and reading. My partner, Rebecca Hedgepeth, and I found them to be very eager to participate and they showed us the correct respect needed for future teachers.
Overall, I found the whole experience to be a very positive one. Since this was my first time being integrated into a school setting I was truly surprised to find that everything went very smoothly.
My partner and I completed a Media Literacy Survey for the class to fill out dealing with the amount of time they spend a week watching television, playing video games, and spending time on the computer. We created a formula that records how much time each student has for exercise.
We created two math lesson plans that were suitable for the second grade and that were relevant to what they were currently learning.
There were several reading assignments that we required for a handful of them to complete. These consisted of a spelling test and a word recognition test.
It was a great experience, one that I will always remember as it was my first.

Ms. Duncan's second grade class was a treat. My partner and I were asked to roam the classroom and look over the students' work to see if there were any errors. During reading class, we kept close attention to our small groups as they took turns reading.
