We need to continue to promote and strengthen the Accounting program to attract students who are in the process of choosing a major. The enrollment for the Accounting program has decreased slightly in recent years. There is a need to maintain a focused effort to encourage more students to choose an Accounting major.

There is a need to open up additional sections of the introductory courses in Computer Information Systems. Existing faculty members teach undergraduate and MBA level courses, as well as courses that are cross-listed with Business Analytics. One faculty member also has administrative responsibilities. We need to hire additional instructors due to the increased number of students taking CIS classes and limited faculty resources.

Goal 1 Enhance Business Analytics Major
Business Analytics is a new major in the School of Business. To develop and grow into a competitive program and attract new students, course offerings should be expanded and existing courses should be enhanced.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Review content of existing courses and evaluate need for additional course offerings, conduct campus events to generate greater interest in the Business Analytics major.
Expected Results: The number of students majoring in Business Analytics will increase.
Details/Description: Develop and grow the program, explore the possibility of introducing an undergraduate minor in Business Analytics to attract more students to the discipline.
 
Goal 2 Continue to Strengthen the Accounting Program
We need to continue to promote and strengthen the Accounting program to attract students who are in the process of choosing a major. Proposed actions to achieve goal: Sponsor promotional activities and reach out to undecided students in the School of Business.
Expected Results: Increase in the number of Accounting majors.
Details/Description: Organize information sessions and other promotional events that target Business students who have not declared a major and publicize the career opportunities within the Accounting field.
 
Goal 3 Increase the pool of professionally qualified adjuncts to teach CIS courses.
