As a relatively new program, the Labor Studies program is not as well known on campus as other interdisciplinary programs. There is a need to increase the visibility among students. This will help to increase the number of majors and minors and raise awareness of Labor justice related themes. Actions include: i. Continue to organize informal gatherings for majors and minors, including Fair Trade Friday conversations, Ice Cream socials, and consultations with students. ii. Sponsor and co-sponsor Labor related campus events, including an annual lecture. iii. Organize meetings of Labor Studies Advisory Committee every semester. iv. Engage more faculty and Department chairs, including the School of Business, in planning and evaluating the program. v. Internships, field trips, and other high-impact learning experiences are important tools to achieve the goals of Labor Studies program.
