Mechanical Engineering student body increased significantly over the last three years and more are coming into the pipeline and our faculty overload for 2016-17 academic years is 159 hours. This is equivalent to more than seven full time faculty. Additionally, half of our graduate classes and 21 hours of our undergraduate courses are taught by adjuncts. The recent ABET program evaluator mentioned this overload as a concern in his exit report. If this concern is not addressed it can become a weakness.

This goal is inked to the first item in the strategic plan “to create an environment for learning that transcends traditional disciplinary, programmatic, cultural and physical boundaries”
