ACT

ACT Example

A new Administrative Rule (67.1-02-02-02) was recently passed by ESPB allowing students to use ACT scores in lieu of the Praxis I CORE Academic Skills Test for ND licensureThis rule is effective beginning October 1, 2020

In order to be eligible the results need to be within the last 10 years and the minimum ACT scores are as follows:  22 Composite, 21 math, & 21 English Language Arts (ELA).  Please note that in order to get an ELA score the optional writing portion of the exam is required.  To the right you will see two different score reports – in the first instance the student did not take the writing and therefore does not have an ELA score, in the second example the student did take the writing so the ELA score is provided.

If a student would like to use the ACT waiver they will be responsible for providing Division Offices with a score report similar to what is shown. We will need to clearly see the scores, name and date of test.  We cannot simply view the ACT scores posted on the transcripts because we cannot see whether or not the writing portion was taken.  Students should be able to sign into their ACT account or use the print out that is often sent to the home address.  The scores will need to be provided via email to education@mayvillestate.edu, if a student is eligible for the waiver their scores and the copy of the scores will be uploaded into Taskstream with their admission file.
