The first step of working in Aqua is ensuring the appropriate rubrics are available. The system comes pre-loaded with the AAC&U VALUE Rubrics. As UCA does not use these rubrics, all rubrics for UCA Core assessment must be built.
After logging in, you will need to click 'My Organization' in the top right corner:

Under 'My Organization' you will click on 'Learning Outcomes & Rubrics Library.'
This will show you the rubrics available to you:

To create a new rubric set, click '+New Outcome Set.'
As Aqua is being used to support UCA Core, click the arrow to the left of 'UCA Core' to expand the menu:

From this screen you can click 'View Rubric' to see completed rubrics, or 'Add Rubric' to complete an existing rubric in the outcome set.
For this resource guide, we will complete the Critical Inquriy: (B) Scientific rubric by clicking 'Add Rubric' to the right of the outcome.

After clicking 'Add Rubric,' there will be a screen overlay that pops-up to allow for completion of the rubric. We will name the rubric for the outcome 'Critical Inquriy: (B) Scientific.'

The rubric used in UCA Core is considered 'Detailed' so click the 'Detailed' radio button:

The last section involves setting up the structure. The UCA Core Rubrics are 4-point rubrics and sorted in a Descending manner.

Once these questions are complete, click 'Start Rubric' in the top right corner:

The screen will shift, and the user will transcribe the information from their paper rubric into the digital rubric:

After all of the fields are complete, click 'Publish Rubric.' This will send the user back to a list of the available rubrics.
The user can then view the completed rubric:

Click 'OK.' If the user is done building the needed rubrics, click 'Aqua' in the top left corner to move on to building a new project.
