Student Learning Outcomes

Goal 1: Students will demonstrate their ability to conceptualize their ideas visually. 

1.A All majors and concentrations demonstrate careful attention to craftsmanship and technique.

1.B All majors and concentrations exhibit a confident use of materials.

1.C All majors and concentrations display an effective use of art elements (line, shape, etc.).

1.D All majors and concentrations demonstrate an understanding of design and composition.

1.E Overall visual impact of the major's and concentration's work in the exhibition.

1.F All majors and concentrations exhibit creative, individualized expression. 

1.G All majors and concentrations exhibit experimentation and exploration. 

1.H Body of major's and concentration's work exhibits thematic development. 

Goal 3: Students will analyze and evaluate their own art.

3.A All majors and concentrations exhibit an ability to critique and write about their own art.

Goal 4: Students will describe, analyze, interpret, and evaluate the work of other artists.

4.A All majors and concentrations exhibit a knowledge of the history, origins and theory of art.

4.B All majors and concentrations exhibit an ability to critique and write about other's art. 

Goal 5: Students demonstrate their knowledge of the vocabulary and concepts used in the study and creation of art.

5.A All majors and concentrations exhibit a knowledge of the meaning of specific art terms.
