Career and Technical Ed I

Think about it........

One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men.  No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man.  ~Elbert Hubbard, The Roycroft Dictionary and Book of Epigrams, 1923

Choose to be extraordinary!!

This course is much more than just a computer applications class - in essence, this class is a primer for 21st century digital citizenship. Students will be challenged to rethink their public behavior on social networking sites; become aware of their digital privacy; and be introduced to ethics and the importance of copyright, attribution and creative commons licensing. Students will develop a resume that will in turn be updated each year until they graduate through our collaboration with the Counseling department.

Yes, students will improve their keyboarding skills - but they will leave here with much more than a faster words-per-minute score. They will leave this class with a better understanding of the world around them and the role technology can play in enhancing their future. It's a brave new digital world out there and this course prepares students for that future.
