This year, Slippery Rock Area School District dropped Edline and picked up Tyler Technologies SIS as their new system of submitting attendance and student grades. I quickly became familiar with this system, and have spent countless hours in order to be sure that I was absolutely proficient with the new grading system. I consistently had been educating not only myself, but also my cooperating teacher, as well as other department members on how to effectively submit grades, categorize assignments, edit assignments, and print out progress reports. I was under complete control of the grades from Week 2 on, updating the grade book on a consistent basis. I would also keep the larger assignments that I graded in a filing cabinet, that way if there was every any discrepancy about a particular grade, I could quickly reference the hard copy and address the issue. This was not a common occurrence, but in the event that there ever would be a question, I figured this was best practice.
