         The elementary school district information for San Diego County is the primary area for multiple subject credentialed teachers to investigate in their job search.  In San Diego County, individual elementary school districts typically use EdJoin (www.edjoin.org), to post positions and use their individual district Human Resource departments to manage the substitute teaching pool.  You will note that the key personnel to become friendly with at each school site are the Principal and the school’s secretary, Principal’s secretary, administrative assistant, or office manager (depending on the terminology used by the district).  This vital information to employment access is provided in each individual district posting.

        In order to obtain employment in a school district it is necessary to investigate their specific requirements.  By checking the individual district web sites you will be able to find the requirements that may include additional application materials, drug screening/physicals, training/orientation requirements, and similar information.  Please note that some school districts have periodic training sessions and that you will not be eligible to substitute until you have completed that training/orientation.  It is important to know the specific requirements for the individual school district to avoid unnecessary delays in the processing phase of your employment pursuits.
