Course Reflection

I took Instructional Technology in Education simply because I was required to in order to graduate, and it fit into my schedule this semester.  When taking this course I expected to learn ways to integrate technology into my teaching methods when I enter the classroom.  I believe that this course did meet my expectations because before this class I never would have considered known about the TIP model and how to use it to integrate games off of websites into my lessons.  The most interesting thing I learned in this course was that there are many health related concerns with the use of technology such as a loss of hearing caused by headphones.  The least interesting thing I learned in this course was the history of digital technologies.  Learning about the different types of technologies used from before I was born really did not matter to me.

As much as I enjoyed not having class three days a week, I feel like perhaps we should have met a few more times to discuss assignments such as the assignment Enhancing a Lesson with Instructional Software Support Tools from lesson five.  This assignment gave me fits, and a couple of people who I am in other classes with were also struggling with this assignment.  One thing I would say to Ms. Bailey is that sometimes your instructions could be pretty vague sometimes like in lesson five, I could interpret the instructions a couple different ways and wasn’t really sure which direction you wanted me to head towards.  One piece of advice I would give to future students of this course is to make sure they read through the lessons because you pretty much tell us what will be on the tests in lessons, and they would be foolish not to get an A on the test.
