Is it necessary to complete the online Application for Field & Clinical Experiences every quarter during the internship?

     No. The online Internship Application should be completed prior to beginning the internship in EDUC 430/530. Then, only needs to be completed again if you have changed your teaching place of employment.

Are Interns allowed to begin the internship program before passing all parts of PRAXIS.

     No. The PLT and any other required Praxis exam, such as the exam for Special Education programs, must be passed before enrolling in Internship.   

Are Interns required to complete lesson plans using the La. Tech TaskStream format?  
Yes. When your Clinical University Faculty evaluates you a lesson plan using the La. Tech Lesson Plan format should be provided to them 2 days in advance via TaskStream. A hard copy should be provided for the CUF at the visit.   

Are interns allowed to select parishes outside of those listed on the survey?

     If you are a full time teacher in a parish other than the 10 parishes listed you should advise us of the school and parish in which you are employed. If you are not a full time teacher you are required to complete your hours in one of the 10 parishes served by La. Tech and listed on the Field and Clinical Experiences Application.  

How do I know who my Clinical University Faculty Advisor will be?

     Normally you are introduced to your CUF at the Orientation meeting at the fall quarter orientation meeting.

Do my hours only count for times in the classroom, or does lunch, recess, other times I am at the school count?

     Every minute you are in the school counts as either planning, observing, assisted teaching or unassisted teaching. If we are interns, is it still necessary for us to be advised each quarter?

Is it necessary for interns to be advised each quarter? 

    You are required to be advised and register for the internship each quarter. Early advising is noted on the Student Teacher/Internship calendar and emails are sent as reminders. We are working on an online advising capacity to be introduced for Early Advising during the Winter 2009-2010 term.

Will I receive a grade for each quarter that I am enrolled in the internship?
Yes, you will receive a grade (pass/fail) at the completion of each quarter during the internship.

Is Administrative permission (signature) required at registration every quarter of internship?

      No.
