In 2006-2007, Myself and a group of ex-pats volunteered to teach English to a group of children at an orphanage in Suwon, South Korea. Every second Saturday we would visit the orphanage to teach English and play games. This volunteer work had a profound impact on my teaching philosophy.
During my teaching in South Korea (2008-2011), our school would hold monthly events for students and parents. Some of these events included gym days, swimming events, and annual holidays. These events provided me a great opportunity to become familiar with parents and create a working partnership with them.
