How I Got My Start in Technology

At the start of my Junior year I enrolled in a program called A+/Cisco Networking at a local trade school called the Chesterfield Technical Center. Little did I know, the next two years here would change my life drastically and pave the way for success in my future career. The Tech Center specializes in taking everyday individuals and turning them into someone who can master a skill just as good, if not better then every day professionals in their respected field. They not only teach you technical skills but also customer service, presentation, interview, and resume skills. I can easily say I would not be where I am today if it was not for this school. It has even led me to land an internship at a number one rated computer repair shop in downtown Richmond Virginia called ALB Tech.

I started as an intern at ALB Tech in the summer of 2013. Here is where I got to put the skills I learned at the Tech Center into real world practice. I spent my whole summer here that year and would go on to continue going to the shop after school when school started back. I was learning a lot from the guys down at the shop and it was beginning to show. One day when I came in I was surprised by a job offer from the boss Adam Bell. I am still currently employed there to this day and am very thankful of all the experience and opportunity this job has given me in advancing in my career.
