1. Daily Posts in Edmodo

Our daily posts in Edmodo consist of apps that are relevent to the content areas of ELA/Arts/Social Studies, Math/Science, and General/Practical Uses of MLD. These posts include of an image of the app and a few sentences about the app and how we will use it in our classroom or daily lives. These are the individual posts that I contributed to the group.

 

Week 5

Post 1 (October 1, 2012): ABC Touch

ABC Touch is a great app for students that are learning their letters. Whether they need more practice with uppercase or lowercase letters this app has it all! This is a game that uses sound to instruct the play of which letter to touch. Once the player gets the correct letter, they continue and move onto to new letters. It's great practice and a fun game.

Post 2 (October 2, 2012): Timeline Eons
Timeline Eons is a great app for history class. This app is a searchable timeline of the entire history of everything. It serves as a great tool to use in the classroom because the presentation and appearance is really eye catching and appeals to students. 
 
Post 3 (October 2, 2012): Sight Words
Sight Words for the iPad is a fun and addictive way to learn sight words by sight, sound & touch. This is a fun game and students learn while playing a game.

Post 4 (October 9, 2012): TED Conferences
The TED Conferences app is a great tool for teachers. This app features many talks about education and philosophies on teaching. You can view these videos on demand at your fingertips. Not only
are these videos informational, but they are interesting as well.
 
 
Week 8
 
Post 5 (October 22, 2012): Tell Time Lite 
Tell Time Lite is a great app to help young students learn how to tell time on analog and digital clocks. This app can be used for first grade. The interactive clock makes learning fun!
 
 
Week 9
 
Post 6 (October 23, 2012)
ShowMe Interactive Whiteboard is an awesome tool for teachers. It allows you to turn you iPad into your personal interactive whiteboard! You can record voice-over whiteboard tutorials and share them online. This app is also very user friendly!
 
 
Week 10
 
Post 7 (November 5, 2012)
Electoral Map 2012 is an app where you can assign states to candidates to model different scenarios. It also has maps of all previous US electoral college results and it gives live updates on election day. This app is great for making students aware of the election.
 
 
Week 11
 
Post 8 (November 13, 2012)
Easybib is an app that creates citations. You can type in the information for APA or MLA citations and it will generate it for you. An awesome feature of this app is that you can scan a barcode of a book and it will give you the citations! This app comes in very handy while writing papers.
 
 
Week 12
 
Post 9 (November 19, 2012)
Math fact master is a great math app. It allows children to practice specific number sets in the proven learning style of flash cards. You can also set the mode in simple mode or a challenge for a diverse range of students.
