Students who have completed a teaching-related bachelors degree at another accredited institution but are looking to complete a licensure program and earn Tier 3 licensure in Minnesota must provide evidence that prior coursework has met licensure standards and must complete at least 12 credits of coursework at Metro State in addition to student teaching in order to earn a licensure recommendation from the School of Urban Education.

Undergraduate students seeking secondary education licensure who are seeking a B.S. in English for Teaching, Life Sciences Teaching, Mathematics Teaching, or Social Studies for Teaching major and want a review of content course(s) required for those majors need to contact their major advisor in the College of Liberal Arts or College of Sciences.
