(2) Completes Professional Development

Standard 15: The unit must ensure each supervisor:

(2) completes professional development in coaching strategies for adult learners;

Beginning with fall 2022 student teaching placements when this new standard came into effect, all UED student teaching university supervisors are required to complete professional development in coaching strategies for adult learners as evidenced in the spreadsheet attached for this standard. The UED Director of Field Experiences also includes discussion of such coaching strategies for adult learners at the start of each student teaching semester when meeting with all supervisors.

The Director of Field Experiences confirms that the university supervisor has completed either of the following before assigning him/her teacher candidates to supervise:

The Director of Field Experience keeps a record in TaskStream of when each university supervisor has completed such professional development (see Figure 15.2).
