2022 METRO STATE SCHOOL OF URBAN EDUCATION UNIT REPORT TO PELSB

(1) Meet Applicable Requirements

Standard 27. The unit must: 
(1) meet the applicable requirements in this chapter, chapter 8710, and Minnesota Statutes, chapter 122A;

As unit leader, the Dean of the School of Urban Education (UED) ensures that the UED and its programs meet the applicable requirements in this chapter 8705 for continuing unit approval as well as program approval, and rules in chapter 8710 for the Standards of Effective Practice, MN Code of Ethics and content-area licensure standards as well as requirements for licensure recommendations under MN Statutes 122A. The UED Dean is responsible for the UED implementing PELSB requirements and approval processes. The Dean keeps updated about current PELSB requirements and approval processes through Board communications to unit leaders and by attending MACTE meetings where the Board provides updates. The UED Department Chair, licensure are program coordinators, Licensure Officer, and Coordinator of Assessment, Reporting and Accreditation all help meet these various requirements when preparing licensure program PERCA reports and new RIPA program proposals for PELSB continuing and initial approval under the supervision of the dean.
