Standard 4 (2): The unit's assessment system must include a process to engage its stakeholders to ... provide feedback and recommendations on unit-wide strengths and areas of improvement, which can include program-specific feedback and recommendations;

Based on their review of unit and program data, UED stakeholders (i.e. candidates, program completers, school partners, teacher educators and community representatives) provide feedback and recommendations on program and unit-wide strengths and areas for improvement during Advisory Group meetings and electronically beyond those meetings. (See process depicted in Figure 4.1 for the previous component of this standard.) During UED Advisory Group meetings, stakeholders look at program and unit level data about candidate performance as well as demographic enrollment and completion data consistent with the mission of the UED, and they are asked for suggestions for improving the UED and its programs. The UED also administers a survey of principals regarding program completers who are employed in their buildings, and have both formal and informal meetings with cooperating teachers involved in methods courses or student teaching.

Feedback is provided by written and oral means, and collected by faculty program coordinators, the Department Chair, Dean and Assessment Coordinator. For instance, during the Spring 2022 Advisory Group Meeting, stakeholders reviewed UED dispositions and made a number of suggestions for what dispositions are important for effective urban teachers and how to define those dispositions. The assessment committee used stakeholder suggestions as a guide and put together new professional dispositions and a disposition instrument to be administered during a candidate’s program progression.
