Children's Literature

IMG_7.JPG

When thinking about a Children's Literature course, there are several familiar names that come to mind: Dr. Seuss, Eve Bunting, Amy Lowry Poole, Shel Silverstein and J.K. Rowling. All of these authors have passed their stories down many years. However, this course was more than only discussing famous authors. This course will allow me to help children find the joy and treasures of reading as well as engage children in a variety of different literature. Children's Literature has also taught me many concepts, analyses and appreciation of both contemporary and traditional literature. Children can be use litereature as a source of educational or personal reasons as well. Throughout this course, I had the opportunity to connect the enjoyment of literature to students at my service learning school and I will take what I have gained from this course into the remained of my college career and on into my future classroom.
