The teacher education program at Chandler-Gilbert Community college requires all students to take the Introduction to Education course. This course is an overview of the education field; it allows future teachers to have field experience through service learning. Service learning is a program that gives students a first impression for what it is like to be in a classroom, because each student is placed into a classroom where we work with both a mentor teacher and students. In addition, this course also includes information about diversities in classrooms, different classroom management techniques, learning styles, even our own philosophies on education.
