This course has really opened my eyes to the reality of what ELL students go though and has given me a birds eye view of how they learn. Learning a new language is difficult for anyone and after taking this course, I have gained so much important insight of the challenges that both teachers and students themselves have to go through. Communicating with students as well as their parents is crucial as well as connecting material to their everyday lives and what they are familiar with will enable them to succeed. I know there is much more to learn, but I feel I have a head start of what is to come.
