Rationale

Context: In Block II in my CI 3110 class we had to find a history lesson in a elementary school textbook that was wrong information, didn't tell enough about the lesson, or an important issue that was not talked about at all. I choose the Kings Mountain Battle in the Revolutionary War. This a very important battle in the Revolutionary War that some history book don't even mention the battle. This battle was the turning point of the Revolutionary War for the colonist here in America. I live close to Kings Mountain and feel strongly about this battle. I thought this battle would be a great lesson to teach.

Impact: This lesson would impact my students tremendously because Kings Mountain city in in the county that I teach in. All student will be able to relate. The county, city of Shelby, and road names are named after officers that fought in the American Revolutionary War

Alignment:I met standard 11, indicator 5 by incorporating technology into the social students lesson by the students looking at pictures of the street sign in the town.

I met standard 6, indicator 2 by the pictures which will be taken of the courthouse and monuments of history about the Revolutionary War that that show the historical arts.

I met standard 4, indicator 8 by teaching the children about North Carolina and United States history involving the Revolutionary War.
