Attached below is my Science Circus Center Project.

Rationale

Rationale for Process Center

Context: I made a science center that students can do own their own in a center. I made this in my GS 4401 class in Block II. This project was designed to focus on a certain process skill. My center focused on observing and predicting. My center was about different types of soil. The students were to observe the soils then test them to see which soil would absorb more water.

Impact: The students will learn about clay, humus, and sand when they do this center. (Science 2.01). The students will be observing the textures and colors of each soil type. The students will be testing each soil and will be able to identify which soil holds or absorbs the most water. The students will work on their own and have to follow the directions on the board.

Alignment:

I met Standard 3, indicator 3 because in this center the students will learn about different types of soils. The students will test out each of the soils to see which soil absorbs the most water.

I met Standard 15, indicator 1 because students will do this center in small selected groups. I will encourage students that are low in other subjects to work at this science center.
