Science Around Us Rationale

DPI Standard 15, Indicator 1

Context: I created this Power Point in Jeff Goodman's GS 4401 class in Block II. This Power Point includes lots picture of things around us in our world. All children can relate to the pictures. There are questions in this Power Point that make children think and wonder. This question will catch their attention and they will want to learn more.

Impact: This Power Point will help me in my class to let students realize that they should be interested in science because it is all around us. This will show students that you can find things in your room outside your door that will interest you and make you wonder. This will help my student become more intrigued to learn about why things are they ways they are, what makes things certain colors, why certain things are here and what their purpose is. My students will become discovers of the world around them.

Alignment: I have met standard 15, indictor 1 by using questions in my Power Point that are showing real world application that everyone can relate to science. Children that feel sometimes left out will feel included in this activity be they will relate to it. My project has helped me represent understated groups.
