Rationale

Rationale for Reading Assessment

Context: I done this reading assessment during Block II for my RE 4030 class. I chose a student that my teacher recommend that we find out more information about this child’s reading ability. This assessment that I constructed showed the student's comprehension ability, fluency ability, and level of word recognition.

Impact: The impact of this assessment that I gave to the third grade student let the teacher know what the students instructional  and independent level of reading. This test will help show the teacher what the student need to work on in reading and where the students are in their reading capability.

Alignment:

I met Standard 7, Indicator 7 by using the word recognition assessment to test students. This test shows students instructional and independently reading level.

I met Standard 1, Indicator 1because when testing students with this assessment teachers have to know the developmental stages of language acquisitions.

I have met Standard 16, Indicator 4 by this assessment I have used resource materials for the elementary curriculum with children's literature.
