Educational Autobiography

Welcome to the Educational Autobiography section of my portfolio.

As a lifelong student I will always consider and reflect upon the path I have followed, which has laid the foundations for my academic, social, and emotional achievements that have brought me to where I am today.

I have had positive and nurturing educational experiences from the time I began my schooling. I have fond memories of learning experiences stemming back to preschool. I have acquired a full education through the Union-Endicott School District. I attended elementary school at Linnaeus W. West and Ann G. McGuinness, which share a campus and separate grades K-3 from grades 4-6.

It was at these schools that I gained valuable learning experiences, while building significant relationships with fellow classmates and teachers. These bonds have impacted my entire educational career, and instilled in me a positive attitude toward learning. These experiences have influenced my decision to pursue teaching, and has ignited a passion in me to being effective in my professional career.

My advancement through grade levels occurred at Jennie F. Snapp from 7th to 8th grade and Union Endicott High School from 9th to 12th grade. In attending these schools my identity developed further as I learned important knowledge, skills, and values. My work ethic has been consistent in my dedication to produce work that aligns with my best possible effort. Through participation in extracurricular activities, I acquired positive experiences and vast knowledge about leadership, teamwork, cooperation, and much more.

I continued my schooling into higher education at SUNY Oswego. My choice of major progressed from undeclared to Business Administration, and is now Childhood Education with a concentration in Social Sciences. Though I excelled academically during my time at Oswego, I was met with challenges while transitioning from Union Endicott to college-level schooling, but was able to adjust well to the changes. In an effort to obtain the best possible and most thorough education pertaining to my major, I transferred to SUNY Cortland.

While at Cortland, I have experienced great success, enhancing my education to a level that has instilled a strong sense of pride. I have benefited greatly from this change and continue to see my educational development flourish.

Through viewing my portfolio, the success I have had throughout my educational career will be made evident in the artifacts that I provide.

Thank you for viewing my Educational Autobiography
