Tema 3: La comida

Unit Topic: Para mantener la salud                                                                                                                    Duration of Unit: 10 hours

 

Context for the Integrated Performance Assessment: You are concerned that you are not taking good care of your health. You have decided to make some changes, but you do not know where to start.

 

Interpretive Task: Listen (or watch) a radio announcer as he interviews people about their lifestyles. As you hear (see) what the people do and eat, decide whether you should or should not do and eat what they do. Make a list of at least 4 ideas you hear under the headings “Debo…” and  “No debo…”

 

Interpersonal Task: You still need some suggestions. Discuss your list of what you should or should not do and eat with your partner. Listen to his/her suggestions. If you hear more good ideas, add them to your list.

 

Presentational Task: Write a summary of what you should and should not do and eat. There should be at least 5 items in each category. 

 

 

Unit Understanding

Students will understand that perspectives on diet and health vary by culture.

Unit Essential Questions

• What do Spanish-speakers think about diet and health?

• Do people from different Spanish-speaking cultures have different views on diet and health from those of people in the U.S.?
