Alignment

NETS-T II A - Teachers design developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that apply technology - enhanced instructional strategies to support the diverse needs of learners.

This standard was met by using the modifications for younger, older, and ESL students. Simple computer skills were required of the younger and ESL students. Advanced technology skills using the computer as well as digital cameras were expected from the older students.

NETS-T IV A - Teachers apply technology in assessing student learning of subject matter using a variety of assessment techniques.

This standard was met by allowing the younger students a more "hands on" approach by printing their computer work. This standard was also met by allowing the older students use of the computer and digital cameras. The older students were required to submit their work to the teacher by e-mail.

NETS-T IV C - Apply multiple methods of evaluation to determine students' appropriate use of technology resources for learning, communication, and productivity.

A rubric was made for this assignment and was used to meet this standard. The rubric includes content, creativity, and grammar which meet the Language Arts goals. A Technology block is also on the rubric for evaluating the student's use of technology.

NETS-T VI D - Teachers promote safe and healthy use of technology resources.

This standard was met by allowing students to take turns at the computer. This allows them to move around when they are not using the computer. This extra time can be used for teacher to direct students in stretching exercises.

NETS-T VI E - Teachers facilitate equitable access to technology resources for all students.

This standard was met by giving the students equal time with the computers. This encourages the students to share and work together. Students have adequate time to complete the assignment in class.
