Christopher House - College Mentor and Tutor

Christopher House is a non-profit organization that provides low-income children and families with equal access to tools and opportunities. Christopher House's Youth Leadership Program helps low-income students overcome obstacles to success in order to achieve academic excellence and go on to post-secondary education. Through the program, youth improve their school performance; increase their own educational expectations; improve their social skills and interpersonal behavior; and increase their level of social/community awareness.

As a Mentor, I provide academic coaching and support, college and career exploration and planning assistance, and emotional support. I also assist with social experiences and facilitating enriching activities that will increase youth preparation for college and career. By providing academic support, encouraging good decision-making and time-management skills, and providing individual assistance with the college application process, I help to strengthen a student's capacity to succeed.
