Flatwoods Elementary is committed to providing a strong educational foundation and a safe, nurturing environment for every individual. Together, the students, staff, parents, and community will work to provide the best possible opportunities to enhance the development of the intellectual, physical, moral, social, personal, and creative abilities in each student.

Our Beliefs

The Faculty of Flatwoods Elementary School believes that:

• All children are unique individuals who can learn and achieve
• All children deserve an equal opportunity to acquire knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes needed to become productive citizens
• Children have various learning styles that are greatly enhanced when they are actively involved in the learning process
• Learning is strengthened through developmentally appropriate and challenging expectations
• A safe nurturing environment promotes learning
• Positive relationships and mutual respect enhance a child’s self esteem
• A partnership of the home, school, and community is necessary to assure that each child has the opportunity to learn, achieve, and succeed
