Lesson #2 This artifact meets ACEI Standard 2.3, because it is a math lesson involving the concept of inches, during a measurement unit. Students will explore the meaning of an inch, and be able to measure how large an inch is by using anything but rulers. This lesson will evolve into learning how to estimate a foot.

This artifact has meaning to me, because I worked hard on trying to make this interesting for a class of elementary students. Math was always my toughest subject in school, and I think that was because of a combination of factors. One of the main factors however, is because I was never interested, and few math lessons actually got me engaged. While writing this lesson, I kept in mind that there will be students in my classroom that are exactly how I was as a child. By keeping that in mind, I created a math lesson that involves cooperative learning, and engaging activities.
