The field trip was very successful and all students greatly enjoyed it. Students were very engaged into the activities similar to those which were done by early California citizens. This trip directly emphasized the 4th Grade CA history standards regarding CA history. Recently, Oakland created activities around a similar historical landmark (also owned by the Peralta Family) similar to this one off of Coolidge Ave. It is located in the Fruitvale neighborhood in East Oakland. Next time I take students to this field trip it would be better to participate with that location because it would be in the same city as our school.
