Main Avenue Bridge

Metal Riveted Cantilever Deck Truss, Stationary is the kind of bridge that the Main Avenue Bridge is. The materials that were used to build the Main Avenue Bridge are 24,000 tons of steel and 55 cubic yards of concrete. The construction of the bridge started May 1938 and was opened October 6th, 1939. The company that is responsible for building the bridge is Wilbur Watson and Associates.

The cost of the Main Avenue Bridge is 7.5 million dollars. There were three modifications and/or repairs in the years of 1978, 1992, and 2007. The Wilbur Watson and Associates was the ones who built it.

I think it helped the community because it helped them get from point A to point B. The bridge can be described as sustainable right now because it is checked on every 10 to 20 yeas and it just had work done on it.
