Hello, my name is Cruz Walden (pronouns they/them)! I'm a 22 year old Mexican-American mass communications student at John Tyler (becoming Brightpoint) Community College. I will transfer to VCU in fall 2022, where I will concentrate in journalism and minor in sociology. A Virginia native, I currently reside in Colonial Heights with my family, but in August I will make the move to Richmond to live on VCU's campus. As a nonbinary person of color, I want to use my voice to advocate for people like me. I look forward to publishing articles online and in print someday. 

When I'm not in school or working at my job as a cell phone salesperson, I enjoy writing, singing, fashion, and spending time with my loved ones.
