During the Spring 2010 spring break, Point Park University took a group of students to participate in the Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge in New Orleans.

We traveled to New Orleans and helped build homes in an area which had been devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico

New Mexico is considered the hungriest state in the nation. Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico has been serving New Mexico’s hungry since 1980 and is the leader in creating solutions to end hunger in New Mexico. Roadrunner Food Bank supplies food to a network of well over 600 organizations and six regional food banks across the state.

In 2007, Roadrunner Food Bank distributed more than sixteen million pounds of food that provided more than sixteen million meals.

In the summer of 2009 I volunteered multiple times at the food bank. On this particular day we had the task of sorting through the donated food items.

IMPULSE

This Point Park University organization is run by students who both dance and choreograph. IMPULSE performs in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas for both Point Park University and non-university events.
