Standard 5 -PROFESSIONALISM

Maintaining professionalism is critical in the teaching field. Going to workshops and actively being involved in the school board and school district can ensure professional growth as a teacher. The education field is constantly evolving, and in order to keep up with the changes, teachers must attend workshops and meetings. Technology is one part of education that is changing rapidly. Being able to implement technology in the classroom can be very beneficial for all students, and especially in regards to special education and inclusive classrooms. Family and teacher relationships relationship can have a strong impact on how the child progresses and keeping the child on track. As a teacher, it is important to include and involve families as much as possible within the classroom. All attachments that are included in this section are connected to the ACEI Standard 5.

Standard: 5.2 Collaboration with families, colleagues, and community agencies—Candidates know the importance of establishing and maintaining a positive collaborative relationship with families, school colleagues, and agencies in the larger community to promote the intellectual, social, emotional, physical growth and well-being of children.
