“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind” –Dr. Seuss
I believe that all children can learn. It does not matter where you come from or who you are. All children are unique and special!
I believe that all children can learn, no matter what their circumstance may be. I want to be the teacher who is able to reach those students whom other teachers felt were unreachable. I believe once given a chance, all children will make an effort to learn. I strive to be an engaging, determined teacher who is completely involved with my students and who is always there for them. I want to make a difference in their lives and encourage them to learn as much as they possibly can. I have very fond memories of elementary school and I believe that is one of the main reasons I decided to become a teacher. I strive to teach my students to the best of my ability and to help them develop the love for learning that I have. Hopefully I will become this teacher and achieve my goal.
I will graduate from Appalachian State University in December of 2006 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a concentration in Social Studies. I hope to obtain a job in North Carolina and become Nationally Board Certified. I would love to take additional classes and get a Master's degree in technology, since that is a field which is in high demand. I want to be able to use as much technology as I have access to in my classroom while I teach. I am also especially interested in the study of Autism because my younger brother is autistic and I want to learn as much about Autism as I possibly can.
