    Upon acquiring your Initial (Teaching) License, you are then given FIVE YEARS to earn your Professional (Teaching) License. The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has created this PowerPoint slide in order to illustrate the various ways that you can earn your Professional License.
