Take Roll & Record Attendance

Early on at the beginning of the semester teachers are both required to physically take attendance with a sheet of paper, as well as log in student attendance online. Due to new students and or unfamiliar faces, at the beginning of the semester students are required when they first come into their class to sign in. At the very earliest of stages the teacher will roll call to learn names and faces. After several weeks teachers will simply leave students to sign in, without roll call, and double check everyone is accounted for before logging in attendance online. After about a month and a half, teachers are no longer required to have students come in and fill the attendance sheet out. At this point teachers should know all of their students within their class and only have to log in attendance online.

Since I took attendance within the first month of my Practicum course, we were still in the early stages of the semester so I both filled out the paper and logged in attendance online. I double checked the paper to ensure which students were present and which students were late or absent. Next, I used my mentor teacher's account to mark those absent or missing.
