Area, pythagorean theorem, probability, and median:  these are just a few of the mathematical concepts that I learned how to teach through my mathematics for elementary teachers course.  Through this course, I not only discovered how to perform numerous mathematical skills, but I also created a lesson to teach to my future students about geometry.  In class we also created a giant pyramid and had a mini metric Olympics.  From interacting in a mathematical teaching setting, I am more prepared to teach math in my future classroom.
